Three Weltcups for Ukraine / Medail for Germany
Three wins for Ukraine, two glass trophies for Japan and a silver medal for Germany - that is how the 44th Turnier der Meister in Cottbus drew to a close on Sunday.

The second day of finals began with the men's vault and women’s beam competition in front of an entirely sold out Lausitzarena. The Asian dominance at this years Turnier continued throughout the beam final. At a mere 17years old, Urara Ashikawa of Japan performed a nearly flawless routine to best the field and win a well earned gold medal. Both Lisa Zimmermann and Sophie Scheder of Germany had to dismount mid-routine involuntarily and finished in sixth and seventh respectively.

Igor Radivilov, the ‘Lokalmatador’, won the men's vault competition. The Ukrainian, who competes for the SC Cottbus in the German Bundesliga, landed both jumps safely receiving an average score of 14.849. No german competitor managed to qualify for today's vault finals.

The men's parallel bar competition trophy went to the reigning Olympic champion at the apparatus - Oleg Verniaiev. While the Ukrainian tied with Has You of China with a score of 15.400, it was the lower D-score of Verniaiev’s routine that relegated You into silver. Lukas Dauser from Unterhaching narrowly missed the podium finishing in fourth.

The only german medal of this years Turnier went to Kim Bui in the women's floor final. The gymnast from Tübingen performed a flawless routine and once again convinced with her elegant performance. In the end, she had to pass the trophy to Anastasiia Bachynska of Ukraine whose dynamic performance marked the third consecutive gold medal for her home country.

As is tradition, the 44th Turnier der Meister concluded with the final of the ‘kings apparatus’ high bar that managed to incite crowds once more. Hidetaka Miyachi of Japan performed a breathtaking acrobatic show to mark a memorable conclusion to the 2019 world cup and claim the final trophy of the weekend.
